Runnin 'Wild is the first studio album by the Australian rock band Airbourne and also their major label debut.

Emergence

After the positive response to the 2004 debut EP Ready to Rock, Airbourne became more and more popular. Among other things, she played as the opening act for the Rolling Stones and Mötley Crüe . Due to the increased public awareness, several record companies showed interest in signing the band. The band signed a contract with Capitol Records for their first studio album . The album was produced by Bob Marlette and Andy Wallace was in charge of the mix . The duo had previously worked for Bruce Springsteen , Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper . The recordings took place in Los Angeles , where the band members had temporarily moved their residence.

After three months of preparation, the band went into the studio to start rehearsing. The group had already completed a large part of the pieces and also played them live, which is why only a few new pieces had to be composed. Then the recordings began, which lasted about three and a half months. At the end of the recordings, 75% of Capitol was taken over by the Virgin Group and most of the bands lost their record deals, including Airbourne. With a finished album, she went looking for a new record company, which was found in Roadrunner Records . The album was released on June 27, 2007 initially exclusively in Australia. In North America and Great Britain the release took place in January 2008 and in Europe on May 30, 2008. The Australian edition of the album, released in 2007, differs from all the following pressings: While the Australian pressing is completed by the song Let's Ride , all subsequent ones end , editions published worldwide with the song Hellfire .

The songs Diamond in the Rough , Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast and Runnin 'Wild were each released as a single . The album was named Best Debut Album of 2008 by Metal Hammer .
