Ryu Seung-woo (born July 8, 1985 ) is a South Korean pool player .

Career

In 2004 Ryu reached the quarter-finals of the Junior World Championships. At the 9-ball World Cup that same year, he finished 81st. In 2006 and 2007 he reached the sixteenth finals. In 2007 he was also third on the San Miguel Tour .

In April 2008 Ryu was eliminated in the preliminary round of the 8-ball World Cup . At the 10-Ball World Cup, however, he reached the sixteenth finals, which he lost to the eventual world champion Darren Appleton . After finishing third in a tournament on the San Miguel Tour in May, he finished ninth in the season finale in October. At the 10-Ball World Cup 2009 Ryu was eliminated without a win in the preliminary round.

At the 9-Ball World Championships in 2012 and 2013 , Ryu was eliminated in the round of 64. Already in May 2013 he reached the sixteenth finals at the China Open . 2014 reached the sixteenth finals of the 9-ball World Cup , but lost it to Antonio Gabica . At the 2015 10-Ball World Cup , Ryu was eliminated in the round of 64. In September 2015, he qualified for the fourth time in a row in the final round of the 9-Ball World Cup with a 9: 8 win against defending champion Niels Feijen , in which he was defeated by Taiwanese Wu Kun-lin in the round of 64 .

Ryu Seung-woo has taken part in the World Cup of Pool three times so far . In 2007 he reached the second round with Kim Woong-dae , in 2012 he and Lee Wan-su were eliminated in the first round against eventual tournament winners Mika Immonen and Petri Makkonen . In 2015 he reached the round of 16 with Jeong Young-hwa .

With the South Korean national team, Ryu took part in the team world championships in 2012 and 2014 . In 2012 the team reached the round of 16.
