The Gmina Słopnice is a rural community in the powiat Limanowski in the south of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . It consists only of the village of the same name and a settlement.

geography

The municipality is located in the south of the Beskydy Voivodeship at the foot of the 1170 meter high Mogielica .

structure

The rural community (gmina wiejska) consists of the large village Słopnice with the five school offices (sołectwa): Słopnice I – V and the settlement Zaświercze .

The school offices are also known as Słopnice Dolne Królewskie, Słopnice Mogielica, Słopnice Górne, Słopnice Granice and Słopnice Dolne Szlacheckie . These are subdivided into a large number of small districts.

Parish partnership

The community has entered into a partnership with Zajta ( Eng . Strings ) in Hungary.

Personalities

Eli Sanders was born in Słopnice in 1904 and immigrated to the United States in 1921. He is the father of US Senator Bernie Sanders .
