Sabine Friedel (born April 5, 1974 in Dresden ) is a German politician ( SPD ). She has been a member of the Saxon state parliament since 2009 .

Life

Sabine Friedel was born in Dresden in 1974. The following year the family moved from the Hechtviertel into a prefabricated apartment in the Gruna district . From 1980 to 1990 Friedel visited the 107th  POS “Prof. Dr. Robert Ganse ”. After she lost her apprenticeship position in the turning autumn of 1989 as a result of reading out an appeal from the New Forum in the Friendship Council , she took a basic vocational training year in 1990 and then attended the Marie-Curie-Gymnasium Dresden , where she graduated from high school in 1993.

After studying political science , sociology and law at the Technical University of Dresden and at the New School in New York City, Friedel was the personal advisor to the Lord Mayor of Dresden , Ingolf Roßberg, from 2001 to 2003 . From 2004 to 2009 she was a research assistant at the chair for political systems and system comparison with Werner J. Patzelt at the Technical University of Dresden.

Friedel has been a member of the SPD since 2000 and shortly afterwards became head of the Dresden Juso Association. In June 2004 she entered the Dresden city ​​council via the list of the SPD . In 2006 she was elected to the state executive committee of the Saxon SPD . She is chairwoman of the SPD city association of Dresden.

In the state elections in August 2009 , she entered the Saxon state parliament via the SPD's state list . Friedel is a member of the Constitutional, Legal and European Committees, the Interior Committee, the Petitions Committee and was one of 19 members of the first Saxon NSU investigation committee "Neo-Nazi Terror Networks in Saxony" from April 2012 to 2014 and has also been a member of the second NSU committee since 2015 on. Within the SPD parliamentary group, Friedel was the spokesperson for domestic and legal policy as well as for integration .

In 2014 she was re-elected and entered the state parliament again via the SPD state list. She is spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group for education policy and fire and rescue services. Since January 2020 she has been the deputy parliamentary group leader and parliamentary manager of the SPD parliamentary group.
