After the stem cell transplant at Röhl in early 2012, it was initially assumed that it would be successful. In October 2012, however, there was a rejection reaction , which led to a considerable deterioration in the condition. On the night of December 7, 2012, Röhl finally succumbed to her condition during clinical treatment in Heidelberg.
