Sabine Schöffmann (born July 28, 1992 in Wolfsberg ) is an Austrian snowboarder .

Career

Schöffmann has been taking part in the European Cup since 2007. So far she has won 16 victories and won the parallel ranking in the 2009/10 , 2016/17 and 2019/20 seasons . She also took first place in the parallel slalom classification in the 2016/17 and 2019/20 seasons. She drove her first World Cup race in January 2009 in Bad Gastein , which she finished in 24th place in snowboard cross. She had her first international success at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2009 in Szczyrk . There she won silver in the parallel giant slalom and gold in snowboard cross. At the following Junior Snowboard World Championships in Nagano in March 2009, she won bronze in the parallel slalom and gold in the parallel giant slalom. In the same month she became Austrian champion in parallel slalom. She repeated this at the Austrian Snowboard Championships 2010 in Gerlitzen . At the 2010 Snowboard Junior World Championships in New Zealand , she won gold in the parallel slalom. In December 2010 she achieved her first top ten placement in the World Cup with eighth place in the parallel giant slalom in Limone Piemonte .

At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2011 in Valmalenco , Schöffmann won bronze in the parallel slalom. At the Snowboard World Championships 2013 in Stoneham , she achieved 12th place in the parallel slalom. In December 2013 she won silver in the parallel giant slalom at the Winter Universiade in Monte Bondone . At the beginning of the 2014/15 season , she won her first World Cup victory in the Montafon in the parallel slalom. At the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg , she came 14th in the parallel slalom and 12th in the parallel giant slalom. At the beginning of March 2015, she achieved another podium finish in Asahikawa with second place in the parallel slalom. She finished the season in second place in the parallel slalom ranking and fourth in the parallel world cup.
In the following season she came in seven World Cup competitions, twice in the top ten, including third place in Bad Gastein and second place in Kayseri . She reached tenth place in the parallel world cup and seventh place in the parallel slalom world cup. In the 2016/17 season she won the parallel slalom in Winterberg and took third place in the parallel slalom in Bad Gastein. She came fourth in the Parallel World Cup and third in the Parallel Slalom World Cup. At the season highlight of the 2017 Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada , she achieved 12th place in the parallel giant slalom and tenth place in the parallel slalom.

In the 2017/18 season, Schöffmann took second place in the parallel giant slalom in Rogla and first place in the parallel giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo , eighth place in the parallel slalom World Cup and seventh place in the parallel world cup and in the parallel Giant Slalom World Cup. Schöffmann was nominated for a starting place at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the South Korean city ​​of Pyeongchang . In a fall on January 28th in Bulgaria, however, she sustained injuries in her left leg, she had to cancel her participation and Daniela Ulbing was nominated again. In the following season she came three times in third and twice in second place and thus achieved fifth place in the parallel giant slalom world cup, fourth place in the parallel slalom world cup and third place in the parallel world cup. At the season highlight, the 2019 World Championships in Park City , she was eighth in the parallel giant slalom and seventh in the parallel slalom.
