Sabtang is the southernmost island in the Philippine province of Batanes , which lies in the north of the country.

The small island is shaped very mountainous by many eruptions . In the southwest of the island the coast is very rocky and drops steeply into the sea. The island population was 1678 at the 2000 census.

The island forms the municipality of Sabtang with two small side islands in the west (Ibuhos (Ivuhos, Ibahos) and Dequey) .

The six villages on the island correspond to the barangays of the municipality (population at the 2000 census in brackets). The largest place is Sinakan in the northeast of the island.
