Babuyan , also Babuyan Island , is an island in the Cagayan Province of the Philippines . It is the northernmost of the Babuyan Islands and is located about 125 km off the north coast of the island of Luzon , in the Luzon Strait .
According to the PNAS island database, the island of Babuyan has an area of 74.39 km².
It is administered by the municipality of Calayan and forms one of its twelve barangays .
There are active volcanoes on Babuyan , such as the Babuyan Claro and the Smith volcano .
