Dalupiri Island is the name of an island in the Cagayan Province of the Philippines . It belongs to the archipelago of the Babuyan Islands and is about 60 km off the north coast of the island of Luzon , in the Luzon Strait . The island has an area of ​​approximately 50 km² and is administered by the municipality of Calayan . The Barangay Dalupiri is located on the island , it had 606 inhabitants in 2007.

Dalupiri Island has an elongated elliptical shape with a length of 24 km and a width of 7 km. The topography of the island is characterized by a hilly landscape, in the center of the island the terrain rises to 297 meters above sea level. The vegetation of the island consists partly of dense, tropical vegetation, but partly also of intensively agriculturally used areas. There are screw trees ( pandanus ) along the rivers and streams . The largest river on the island is the Manolong River, it is about 2.5 km long. Other streams are the Cabitangaan, Nipa, Caucauayan, Purdos, Nagkoralan, and Bumaro Creek. The largest animals on the island are the carabao and horses . A small population of the Philippines crocodile ( Crocodylus mindorensis ) lives on the island. Among the avifauna, the red-backed heron ( Nycticorax caledonicus ) and the zebra allele ( Gallirallus torquatus ) are known, both breed on the island. The largest lizard is the common monitor monitor ( Varanus salvator ).

Fuga Island is about 23 km to the south , Calayan Island is about 25 km to the northeast , and Camiguin Island is 70 km to the southeast . The island can be reached via the port of Aparri .

Another island, Dalupiri, is in the Samar Sea , in the Northern Samar Province .
