Batan |
The island of Batan (formerly Divatan ) belongs to the group of islands of the same name, the Batan Islands . It is located in the north of the Philippines in the Batanes Province . The appearance of the island is particularly determined by the two mountains Iraya and Mahtarem . The coastline is mainly characterized by the large Mananioy Bay in the east. Batan has an area of 76 km². In 2000 there were 11,173 people on the island. Another island of Batan is in the Albay province of the Philippines .
