Järve is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island of Saaremaa . It belongs to the Saaremaa rural community (until 2017: Salme rural community ) in the Saare district .

The village on the east coast of the Sõrve peninsula has 19 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is eight kilometers southwest of the island's capital, Kuressaare .

Järve is best known for its dune landscape. In some places the dunes rise up to eight meters.

The beaches on the Baltic Sea are popular with bathers.
