Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Fresnay-sur-Sarthe with 552 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Sarthe in the region Pays de la Loire . The inhabitants are called Saint-Germinois .
The municipality of Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe was merged with Fresnay-sur-Sarthe and Coulombiers on January 1, 2019 to form the Commune nouvelle Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe belonged to the Arrondissement of Mamers and the canton of Sillé-le-Guillaume (until 2015: canton of Beaumont-sur-Sarthe ).

Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe is located about 31 kilometers north-north-west of Le Mans on the Sarthe . The municipality of Saint-Germain-sur-Sarthe was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Fyé in the north and northeast, Coulombiers in the east and northeast, Piacé in the east and southeast, Moitron-sur-Sarthe in the south, and Saint-Aubin-de-Locquenay in the west Southwest and Saint-Ouen-de-Mimbré to the west and northwest.
