The Salaison is a coastal river in France that runs in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It rises on the municipal boundary of Montaud and Guzargues , drains generally in a south-easterly direction and flows 25 kilometers east of Montpellier , in the municipality of Mauguio, into the lagoon lake Étang de l'Or and thus into the Mediterranean .
