Montaud ( Occitan : Montaut ) is a French commune with 991 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montpellier and the canton of Le Crès . The inhabitants are called Montaudois . Montaud is bordered to the north by Saint-Bauzille-de-Montmel , to the east by Buzignargues , Saint-Hilaire-de-Beauvoir and Saint-Jean-de-Cornies , to the south-east by Saint-Drézéry , to the south by Castries , to the south-west by Guzargues and to the west at Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers .
