Valergues is a French commune with 2,071 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montpellier and the canton of Mauguio . The inhabitants are called Valerguois .

geography

Valergues is located about ten kilometers east-northeast of Montpellier on irrigation canal Canal du Bas-Rhône Languedoc (also Canal Philippe Lamour called). Valergues is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Geniès-des-Mourgues in the north, Lunel-Viel in the east, Lansargues in the south and Saint-Brès in the north-west.

The national route 113 runs through the municipality .
