Saint-Brès is a French commune with 2,948 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montpellier and the canton of Le Crès . The inhabitants are called Saint-Brésois .

Saint-Brès is located about 13 kilometers northeast of Montpellier on the Bérange river . Saint-Brès is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Castries in the north and north-west, Saint-Geniès-des-Mourgues in the north-east, Valergues in the east, Lansargues in the south-east, Mudaison in the south and Baillargues in the west.

The former route nationale 113 runs through the municipality . The Saint-Brès train station is on the Tarascon – Sète-Ville line .
