Baillargues is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Castries in the north, Saint-Brès in the northeast and east, Mudaison in the southeast, Mauguio in the south, Saint-Aunès in the southwest and Vendargues in the west.
Baillargues is part of the Vin de pays des Collines de la Moure wine region .
The A9 autoroute and the national route 113 run through the municipality .
history
Remains of a villa rustica can be found from the time of the Roman province of Gallia narbonensis . The historic Via Domitia also ran through the municipality . The church of Baillargues is mentioned for the first time in 1146. From this time (12th / 13th centuries) a village developed around the fortified castle complex.
