Sam Melville

Samuel "Sam" Gardner Melville (born August 20, 1936 in Fillmore , Utah , † March 9, 1989 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Melville began his career in the mid-1960s with guest appearances on television series such as A Cage Full of Heroes , On the Run, and Smoking Guns . He made his feature film debut in 1967 as Morgan Earp in John Sturges ' Western the Gun alongside James Garner and Jason Robards . The following year he had a minor supporting role in Thomas Crown Unbelievable, starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway . He gained fame among US television audiences through his portrayal of Officer Mike Danko in the crime series California Cops - New in Action , produced by Aaron Spelling , of which 93 episodes were made between 1972 and 1976. 1978 Melville was in a supporting role in the surfing movie Big Wednesday by John Milius to see. In the following years he played guest roles in various series formats such as TJ Hooker , Airwolf and Das A-Team . Between 1985 and 1987 he played Kate Jackson's ex-husband in the television series Agentin mit Herz . Jackson had previously played his wife in California Cops - New in Action . After that he was seen in a few B-movies .

Melville died of heart failure at the age of 52 . He was married and had no children.
