Sam Yahel
Sam Yahel (* 1970 in Shreveport , Louisiana ) is an American jazz organist.
Yahel came to New York City in 1990, where he has worked since then. a. worked with Joshua Redman , Eric Alexander , Maceo Parker , Bill Frisell , Ryan Kisor , Jim Rotondi , Matt Penman , Nicholas Payton , Norah Jones ( Come Away With Me 2002), Lizz Wright and Madeleine Peyroux . In the late 1990s he founded an organ trio with drummer Brian Blade and guitarist Peter Bernstein , with whom he also performed at the Village Vanguard . With Önder Focan and Bill Stewart he also recorded for Blue Note Records . In 2006 he was nominated Keyboardist of the Year for the JJA Jazz Awards of the Jazz Journalists Association .
