The Samarinda International Airport ( Jawi :فرودگاه سیرینگ) is a Samarindas airport opened in May 2018 . It is also known as Sungai Siring Airport to distinguish it from its predecessor, Teminding Airport (IATA code: SRI).
Construction phase
As the old SRI airport was overloaded and the residents complained about the aircraft noise, it was decided to build a new airport.
Construction work began in 2005. Completion of the runway began in March 2014. The construction costs totaled around 292 million US dollars .
terminal
Samarinda International Airport is said to have a terminal with 16 check-in counters . The departure hall will be on the 1st floor and the arrivals hall on the ground floor.
The passenger terminal with its 4 piers is spanned by a roof made of curved aluminum.

Major airlines that are scheduled to fly to Samarinda are Aviastar Mandiri , Kal Star Aviation , MASwings , Merpati Nusantara Airlines , Susi Air , Trigana Air Service and Wings Air .
The most important flight destinations should be Bali , Banjarmasin , Berau, Datadawai, Jakarta , Long Apung, Makassar , Malinau, Melak, Palangkaraya , Pontianak , Surabaya , Tanjung Selor , Tarakan and Tawau .
