Samuel Gottlob Auberlen
Samuel Gottlob Auberlen (born November 23, 1758 in Fellbach ; † August 23, 1829 in Ulm ) was a Württemberg musician and song composer.
biography
Samuel Gottlob Auberlen took piano, violin and cello lessons from his father Georg Daniel Auberlen . In 1773 he became his father's school assistant. At the age of 20 he received violin lessons from the ducal chamber virtuoso Enßlen at the court of Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg. After working as a music teacher in Murrhardt , he became bassist in the orchestra of the Zurich Music Society in 1782 at the instigation of Lavater's secretary . Auberlen later went on a concert tour, became a violinist in Carl Eugen's court orchestra, albeit without a salary, then music director in Winterthur and Tübingen and, in 1817, organist and music director at Ulm Minster . In 1784 he published his songs for piano and voice , which later enjoyed some popularity in Swabia and are said to have influenced Friedrich Silcher . His autobiography was published in 1824 .
