Samuel Henley (born July 25, 1993 in Val-d'Or , Québec ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Colorado Avalanche from the National Hockey League until July 2017 and at the same time for their farm team , the San Antonio Rampage , played in the American Hockey League on the position of the center .

Career

Henley played at the beginning of the 2009/10 season for the Lewiston MAINEiacs in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec , who had previously selected him in the Entry Draft . There the striker spent two years before the team was disbanded and Henley got to the Foreurs de Val-d'Or from his hometown via a dispersal draft . He stayed with the team for another three years and won the Coupe du Président at the end of the 2013/14 season .

Ungedraftet changed Henley in May 2014. turned professional after it had taken the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League contract. There he spent the 2014/15 season in the American Hockey League with the Lake Erie Monsters . In the summer of 2015, the Avalanche changed their farm team and the attacker went on the ice for the San Antonio Rampage. It was there that he began the 2016/17 season , before he was appointed to the Colorado NHL squad for the first time in early December 2016 and made his debut there. He crowned his only mission with his first NHL goal.

His expiring contract in Colorado was not renewed after the 2016/17 season, with Henley subsequently decided to take a year off from professional sports.

International

For his home country, Henley played in the junior division at the World U-17 Hockey Challenge 2010 for the selection of the Province of Québec. He finished sixth with the team, to which he contributed one goal in five games.
