Santa Rosa is a town in the Chuquisaca department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

Santa Rosa is the sixth largest town in the canton Incahuasi in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Incahuasi in the province of Nor Cinti and is located at an altitude of 3177 m in the immediate vicinity of the basin of Culpina, a basin with no drainage and the salt lake Salar de Culpina . Santa Rosa is located on a left tributary of the Río Chunchuli, which flows downstream at Villa Charcas into the Río Villa Charcas.

Santa Rosa is located in the mountainous region of the Cordillera de Tajsara o Tarachaca in the semi-arid transition area between the semi-humid mountain forests of the eastern mountain ranges of Bolivia and the arid Altiplano .

Traffic situation

Santa Rosa is 444 kilometers by road south of Sucre , the capital of the department.

From Sucre, the paved road Ruta 5 leads in a south-westerly direction to Potosí , the capital of the department bordering to the west. From here the Ruta 1 leads south , which is still paved for the first 37 kilometers to Cuchu Ingenio . After another 146 kilometers, the Ruta 1 reaches the city of Camargo .
