Satoshi Irifune ( Japanese 入 船 敏 , Irifune Satoshi ; born December 14, 1975 in Hioki ) is a Japanese marathon runner .

Life

At the 1999 World Athletics Championships , he came in 20th place over 10,000 m .

The following year he finished second at the Japanese company championship in the half marathon and finished 18th at the half marathon world championships in Veracruz . He finished eleventh in the 2002 Lake Biwa Marathon and in 2004 in the Tokyo International Men's Marathon .

In 2005 he won the Beppu-Ōita marathon and came 20th at the World Championships in Helsinki . In 2006 he was fourth in Tokyo and fourth in the Asian Games in Doha . A third place at the Tokyo Marathon 2007 was followed by a fifth place there in 2008 and a second at the Fukuoka Marathon . At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, he came in 14th.

In 2010 he was tenth in the Kagawa Marugame Half Marathon and ninth in Fukuoka.

Satoshi Irifune is 1.76 m tall and weighs 59 kg. He is a graduate of the Kagoshima Commercial High School . After initially working for the Kyocera company team , he switched to the Kanebo Cosmetics team in July 2000 .
