Saurenhäuschen is a residential area in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The living space is in the Dönberg residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district on today's Höhenstraße near the Catholic Church at an altitude of 300  m above sea level. NHN . The original residential space has merged into the residential development along Höhenstraße .

Neighboring places, besides Dönberg, are the living spaces and farms Katzenbruch , Adamshäuschen , Pastorat , Steinshaus and Bergmannshaus .

In the local dialect the place was also called suurenhüsken .

history

In the 19th century acids house was one of the villages of the peasantry and the parish Dönberg the mayoralty Hardenberg established in 1935 Neviges has been renamed. From 1816 to 1861 it belonged to the Elberfeld district and from 1861 to the old Mettmann district .

The Catholic pastorate of Dönberg was in Saurenhäuschen . The house of the sexton of the Catholic community in Dönberg stood there until the demolition in 1974 .

With the municipal reform of 1929, the southern part of Dönberg was split off and incorporated into the newly founded town of Wuppertal with other Nevigeser villages outside Dönberg, the rest of Dönberg with Saurenhäuschen initially remained with Neviges. As a result of the regional reform of North Rhine-Westphalia , Neviges came to the city of Velbert at the beginning of 1975 and the rest of the Dönberg was also incorporated into Wuppertal.
