Krüppershaus is a residential area in the north of the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal .

Location and description

The living space is in the north of the Dönberg residential area in the Uellendahl-Katernberg district on Landesstraße 433 (here called Horather Straße ) at the confluence of Am Krüppershaus at an altitude of 292  m above sea level. NHN . The original residential area has merged into the residential development within the closed settlement area of ​​Dönberg.

In addition to Dönberg, neighboring places are the residential areas and farmhouses Handweiser , Hitzhaus , Winterberg , Schliepershäuschen , Steinenpitter and Stürmann .

In the local dialect, the place was also called Krüpershuus .

history

In the 19th century Krüppershaus belonged to the outlying villages of the farmers and the parish of Dönberg in the mayor's office Hardenberg , which was renamed Neviges in 1935 . From 1816 to 1861 it belonged to the Elberfeld district and from 1861 to the old Mettmann district .

The place is marked on the topographical survey of the Rhineland from 1824 as a war house and on the Prussian first photo from 1843 as a body house . The place is labeled as Krüppershaus on measuring table sheets up to the middle of the 20th century .

In the municipality lexicon for the Rhineland province of 1888, a house with four residents is given for Krüppershaus. The place was called Krüpershaus at that time .

With the municipal reform of 1929, the southern part of Dönberg was split off and incorporated into the newly founded town of Wuppertal with other Neviges villages outside Dönberg, the rest of Dönberg with Krüppershaus initially remained with Neviges. As a result of the regional reform of North Rhine-Westphalia , Neviges came to the city of Velbert at the beginning of 1975 and the rest of the Dönberg was also incorporated into Wuppertal.
