The first meeting of Europe's best under 20-year-olds ( U20 for short ) had the (albeit still unofficial) name " European Junior Games " and took place from September 18-20, 1964 in the stadium on the 10th anniversary of the Polish capital, Warsaw . These junior games took place three times before they were continued from 1970 under the name European Athletics Junior Championships .
