Savva - A hero saves the world (Also: A Warrior's Tail , Savva: Heart of the Warrior , Russian Савва. Сердце воина - Sawwa: Serdze Woina) is a Russian / English computer-animated film by Art Pictures Studio and Glukoza Production . The director was Maxim Fadeev . The film was released in Russia on November 12, 2015 and in England on April 1, 2016. The English cast included Milla Jovovich (Savva), Will Chase (Anggee / Prince Angacetus) and Whoopi Goldberg (Mom Jozee / Mama Zho Zi).

In a small village, the little boy Sawwa is told the story of the white wolves who have protected people for thousands of years. However, when the wolves turned against humans, a powerful sorcerer turned them into wild animals.
The village is attacked by hyenas who announce that the villagers are to be sold as slaves. Sawwa escapes and is saved by the white wolf Anggee (Анга). He offers Sawwa to take him to a magician who knows a warrior who can save the village, even if they have to pass Mom Jozee (Мама ЖоЗи), the three-headed monkey queen . On the way there, they meet a small pink creature Puffy (Пусик) who claims to be an enchanted prince who is looking for the wizard to break the curse. They also save an ugly man Fafl (Фафл), who also claims to be an enchanted prince, a formerly handsome baron (Полубарон) who rejected the love of a witch and was then cursed to ugliness and also endured the presence of the Mosquito King must until both agree on one thing. But Fafl's pride prevents any agreement. Mom Jozee learns about the group's mission and sends her spies to follow them.
Then Puffy is kidnapped by natives who live in a nearby swamp. They consider him to be their god Makatunga (Макатунгой). The tribe also captures Sawwa, Anggee and Fafl, which is observed by the spies of Mom Jozee and the Rickies (wrestlers), some kind of warrior. Sawwa, Anggee and Fafl meet the chief shaman Shisha (Шаман Ши-Ша) and his granddaughter Nanty (Нанти), who falls in love with Sawwa. As a shaman, Shisha had tried magic before to break Anggee's curse, which enabled him to become a white wolf again. Shisha also tells Sawwa that the Makatunga tribe would like to go back to heaven, but that would require Puffy's death. Sawwa rescues Puffy from the temple, but Nanty follows them and asks her to join the group.
That night, Nanty watches Anggee transform into a Rickie. Sawwa accuses Anggee of lying and sends him away, but is kidnapped by another Rickie, who acts on the orders of Anggee's father. Mom Jozee learns from her scouts that the Rickies are really the white wolves and declares war on them to prevent the white wolves from returning.
Anggee enters into a confrontation with his father, who has no desire to become a white wolf again. He refuses to help, but at least lets Sawwa go. After reuniting with Nanty, Fafl, and Puffy, Anggee explains that when his father was nearly starving, he attacked a human, turning all white wolves into rickies. And because the white wolves believed themselves powerful, they were cursed to fear the smallest animals in the forest: mosquitoes, whose bite can kill the rickies.
As the army of monkeys approaches, they are helped by the natives and the rickies that Anggee's father sent when he learned that the monkeys had declared war. Mom Jozee orders a swarm of mosquitoes to kill the Rickies. Since the Mosquito King is the only one who can stop the swarm, Fafl is forced to come to an agreement with him, which finally gets rid of him. As soon as the mosquito king returns to its swarm, it attacks the monkeys with it. Once the monkeys are defeated, Sawwa and his friends travel on to the wizard's house. The magician is really a little girl (Wolschebnitsa, Волшебница) who fulfills all wishes. Fafl gets his appearance back and receives the title of full baron. Anggee and the Rickies will be white wolves again. Puffy wasn't an enchanted prince at all and he has no wish since he now has friends. Sawwa is led into an adjoining room to find the warrior, but instead stands in front of a mirror. Sawwa then returns to his village and defeats the leader of the hyenas (Elsa, Гиена Эльза), who promises never to attack again.
Anggee says goodbye to Sawwa and becomes the new king of the white wolves. Fafl decides to travel the world with Puffy. Nanty stays with Sawwa, who is heartbroken that he may never see Anggee again. However, Anggee returns unexpectedly and there is a happy ending.

The film was produced in cooperation between Art Pictures Studio and Glukoza Production (Глюк'oZa Animation), with Maxim Fadejew responsible for the direction, script and music, as well as the producer. Fadeev had previously worked as a songwriter for various Hollywood films.

A Warrior's Tail was first released in Russia. The premiere took place on November 12, 2015. After that, it was gradually launched worldwide. In Great Britain on April 1, 2016 and most recently in Italy on July 20, 2017.
Reviews
The Guardian calls the film "sloppy trash", although the reviewer's seven-year-old son thought the film was good. Close-up film judges: nice graphics but bad story. Apparently there was also a certain nationalistic subtext, since the hostile hyenas are shown in the national colors of Ukraine . Overall, the film's personnel and plot appear as a hodgepodge of alienated characters from all well-known animation and fantasy films, such as Peter Pan , The Lion King , Bolt , Star Wars , Lord of the Rings , Alice in Wonderland , The Wizard of Oz and others.
