Sayaka Shoji
Sayaka Shoji ( Japanese 庄 司 紗 矢 香 , Shōji Sayaka ; born January 30, 1983 in Tokyo ) is a Japanese violinist .
Live and act
Sayaka Shoji grew up in Siena and studied at the Cologne University of Music with Zakhar Bron and Saschko Gawrilow , Uto Ughi , Shlomo Mintz and chamber music with Riccardo Brengola . She was the first Japanese woman and the youngest woman to win the Premio Paganini violin competition in Genoa (1999).
After she auditioned for Zubin Mehta in 2000 , the latter sponsored her first sound recording with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra . This was followed by joint appearances with Mehta and the orchestra of the Bavarian State Opera and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra . She then performed internationally with numerous well-known orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic , the London Symphony Orchestra , the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic and the Gewandhaus Orchestra - under the direction of important conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy , Semyon Bychkov , Sir Colin Davis , Charles Dutoit , Mariss Jansons , Lorin Maazel and Sir Roger Norrington .
She made numerous sound recordings and plays (on loan) on the Récamier Stradivari from 1729.
