The Schönbach is a brook on the Baar in southern Baden-Württemberg . It is a right tributary of the Elta flowing to the Danube .

The Schönbach rises between Weigheim (city of Villingen-Schwenningen ) and Schura (city of Trossingen ) near the Wendelins chapel. The source, the Trackenbrunnen, is only a little west of the A 81 in the Weigheim district. It was the construction of the highway verdolt . Shortly after the source it receives inflows from the Kindle fountain (left) and from the somewhat longer fire ditch (right, from the district of Tuningen ).

The Schönbach flows first to the east through Schura. Then it turns in a south-easterly direction and receives a tributary from Neuenbach (right). It flows on through Durchhausen and Oberflacht . After about ten kilometers, immediately south of Seitingen , it flows into the Elta , a tributary of the Danube, which is even shorter there .

The European watershed Rhine-Danube also runs through the region , so that about 200 m north and west of the Schönbach source the waters flow into the Neckar and thus into the Rhine .
