The place is about 5.2 km south of the city center.

history

First mention

In 1436 the village was mentioned for the first time in a document. The spelling of the first mention was "Schoenembach" . However, this location is considered unsafe because of the same names.

1465 "Johan and Tielgen van " Schoenenbach " , Rychslude , are mentioned by the immigrants to Homburg." The connection with the rulership of Homburg shows that the place belonging to the town of Waldbröl is meant.
