The Schaafbach (also called Schafbach and also Eichholzbach up to Ahrmühle ) is an approximately 11.4 km long, western and orographically right tributary of the Ahr in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen .

The Schaafbach rises in the northern Eifel as Eichholzbach . Its source is in the Ripsdorf forest on the northwest slope of Heidenkopf III (approx. 595 m above sea level ) in the Nonnenbach and Eichholzbach nature reserve with side valleys in the area of the municipality of Dahlem at an altitude of approx. 581 m .
From here the stream flows in an easterly direction through the area of the municipality of Blankenheim . From the mouth of the Gundersbach (km 5.8) at the hamlet of Ahrmühle, where the stream passes the Stromberg ( 559 m ), it is called Schaafbach. As such, it flows a little north past the district of Ripsdorf and flows northeast of Hüngersdorf at about 378 m above sea level into the Rhine tributary Ahr coming from the northwest .
