The Schadenbeeksköpfe are a maximum of 605  m above sea level. NHN high, two-headed southeast foothills of the Aschentalshalbe in the Harz low mountain range . They are located near the village of Sieber in the non-parish Harz region of the Göttingen district in Lower Saxony .

Geographical location

The Schadenbeeksköpfe rise in the Upper Harz in the Harz Nature Park about 3.5 km (as the crow flies ) southeast of the village of Sieber, a northeastern district of Herzberg am Harz . They separate the Schadenbeek , after which they were named, from the upper Krumme Lutter . The north-west knoll is 605  m high, the south-east knoll about 585  m .

The Wolkenhügel pit , which was closed in June 2007, is located about 1 km east of the Schadenbeeksköpfe in the Krummen Lutter valley .

Today the Schadenbeeksköpfe in the higher elevations are mainly overgrown with spruce , while in the lower elevations there is also deciduous forest . In 1596 they were still completely overgrown with beeches .

hike

The Schadenbeeksköpfe were included as No. 153 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin until 2016 . The stamp box hung on a refuge ( ; approx.  602  m ), which is about 1 km north of the northwestern crest of the Schadenbeeksköpfe and 1.25 km east-northeast of the Aschentalshalbe . A little to the west of the hut is a survey point at an altitude of 627  m . A spring stream of the Krumme Lutter rises directly beyond the forest path that leads past the hut .
