Schierstedt (noble family)
Schierstedt or Schierstaedt is the name of a noble family, which the Upper Saxon nobility comes from and its eponymous parent had at Aschersleben.
history
According to Kneschke's Adelslexikon , Hans von Schierstedt moved to the holy grave in 1230 , and in 1258 the Meinecke brothers, Erbsasse zu Hadmersleben , and Heinrich and Johann von Schierstedt appear.
The family first appeared in documents in 1263 with the knight Bertram von Schierstedt and began their uninterrupted line of tribe with Deritz von Schierstedt , lord of Freckleben and archbishop of Magdeburg Vogt of Krosigk , Wettin and Friedeburg, mentioned in a document in 1295 . In 1366 Johann von Schierstedt was colonel of the Archbishop of Magdeburg. In 1380 the knight Meinke sold eyner huve up deme velde tu Reindorp to the Gerbstedt monastery .
Possessions
- The Schierstedt had been sitting on Hohenlobbese since the 13th century .
- In 1411 the family was enfeoffed with the Schwarzburgischen Görzke near Jerichow , where the family sat until the Thirty Years War . In the village church of Görzke , in addition to the keystones, several epitaphs remind of the family.
- From 1583 to 1945 the village of Mahlenzien and the manor house belonged to the family. She held the patronage of the village church in Mahlenzien . Today Mahlenzien is a district of the independent city of Brandenburg an der Havel.
- From 1837 to 1945 the Schierstedt owned the Dahlen estate in Fläming, Brandenburg. With the acquisition of Dahlen they had the manor house redesigned by Ludwig Persius .

The coat of arms shows three silver bolts (or arrows) lying diagonally to the right, one above the other. On the helmet with blue-silver helmet covers, a natural tree, shot diagonally right through by a silver arrow.
