The Schloßteich Flechtingen is a pond in Flechtingen in Saxony-Anhalt .
geography
It has an area of 10.5 hectares and is characteristic of the village of Flechtingen, in the center of which is the pond. The location of Flechtingen mainly extends to the east and north banks of the pond. In the northern part of the pond, the moated castle Flechtingen is located on a rocky island that is 100 meters long and 60 meters wide and connected to the bank by two dams. Another small island with a diameter of around 25 to 30 meters. On it is a tombstone with the inscription: "Werner † Aug. 7, 1888"
Hydrology
The pond is fed by several tributaries. To the south there is a pre-pond, the 1.5 hectare Mühlenteich Flechtingen , which is fed from the south by the Große Renne . Immediately to the west, only separated by a narrow dam, is the only 0.6 hectare seven-island pond . To the north of the moated castle is the one-hectare small castle pond , into which the Flechtingen castle pond drains. The Spetze , which ultimately flows into the Aller , rises from the Kleiner Schlossteich in the north (later north-west) direction of flow .
fauna
The fish species eel , perch , bream , pike , carp , marble carp , roach , tench and pikeperch are found in the pond . In addition, American crayfish , painter clams , pond clams and great mud snails were found in the pond .
