Reichertshausen Castle

history

Reichertshausen is first mentioned in 779 when a woman from Toza had a house of prayer built. The Babenberg family is proven to be the next gentleman on Reichertshausen in 1060 . Subsequently, the castle owners called themselves von Richershusen .

In 1334 the palace and possessions were sold to Ludwig Pütrich , a citizen of Munich . In 1347 he received the closed court rights from Emperor Ludwig the Bavarian .

In two steps, 1497 and 1502, the property was sold to Hans von Pfeffenhausen . The next owners from 1607 were the barons of Weichs . By marriage in 1840, the Hofmark finally came to the von Cetto family , who still own it today.

Building description

The oldest parts of Reichertshausen Castle date from around 1100 and were rebuilt in the late Gothic style by the Lords of Pfeffenhausen in the 16th century . During the Thirty Years War the castle was destroyed, but rebuilt with a wall and the moat as a moated castle .

Reichertshausen Castle is designed as a three-wing complex. An inner courtyard was enclosed by delimiting the fourth side with a wall . During a renovation in the late 1970s, Gothic frescoes were exposed.

In 1714 Joseph von Weichs had the castle chapel of the 14 saints and chapel hall built.

Immediately next to the extensive castle park in the English style is the golf club Schloss Reichertshausen and the directly adjacent riding facility Schloss Reichertshausen .

Todays use

Most of the castle is inhabited by the von Cetto family. Other parts are used for concerts and rented out for events.
