course

The origin of the Schmegelgraben (Uchte) is a good 400 meters north-northeast of the Delteich on Wittenmoorer Weg (connection between the island and Wittenmoor ), to the left of the Dellberg hill, at a height of 63 meters. For the first 120 meters, the ditch flows in a north-northwest direction, and then continues to meander with a long left arch in a north-northeast direction. At the end of the arch (radius 993 m), the trench now leaves the immediate vicinity of Wittenmoorer Weg. shortly before that, a small mottling ditch opens. With a few turns the ditch flows past the island, further north-northeast. Another short trench meets here. Further 920 meters further, an unnamed ditch (on the left), which has further tributaries, meets the Schmegelgraben at right angles. This kicks here accordingly 90 ° to the east in order to flow past 170–400 meters from the place to the north, with further short trenches being recorded on the right. After the bend, the ditch, which flows east-southeast, first crosses under the district road 1047, then the B 188 . After crossing under, turn to the northwest and cross a path. The underflow of the entire course on the on the district is lying island trench, first straight almost directly north, then some meandering north northeast of the western boundary of the district before (km to 34-35 m height approximately 1.2 southwest of the Möringen station ) flows into the Uchte on the right. The total length of the trench is 5 kilometers.

Tributaries

The Schmegelgraben has no named tributaries. However, there are a variety of agricultural drainage ditches , down to river ordinal number 6.
