The Schmiedackerbach is a year-round flowing water of the 3rd order in the Untermässing district of the town of Greding in the Central Franconian district of Roth , Bavaria .
history
The Bavarian original cadastre shows the Schmiedackerbach in the 1810s under the name Heinerichs Graben . Its water power probably drove a mill in Untermässing, which today is only reminiscent of the street name Mühlgraben . The upper course was dammed with a wall up to two meters. In 2007 the barrier was removed and the creek there renatured.
course
The source area of the stream is located in the Heinrichsgraben landscape protection area . It rises on the western Sulzplatte and flows into the Schwarzach-Thalach valley funnel . It has a length of almost two kilometers and flows in a steady westward course before it flows into the Schwarzach from the left in Untermässing . Today the brook passes under the town center of Untermässing , whereby it takes another nameless brook underground from the right.
Water quality
The entire stream is classified as water quality class II-III, critically polluted with organic, oxygen-consuming substances. Fish deaths due to a lack of oxygen are just as possible as a decline in the number of macrophytes and a tendency towards mass development of individual plant and animal species.
