Express locomotive 01 220
The express train locomotive 01 220 is a steam locomotive that has been erected as a technical monument in Treuchtlingen in the Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen district in Central Franconia . The locomotive is registered under the monument number D-5-77-173-47 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list.
history
The vehicle belongs to the series 01 of the Deutsche Reichsbahn and was built in 1937 by the locomotive manufacturer Henschel & Sohn under the factory number 23468. The decrease was on June 5, 1937. In 1957 the locomotive was given a new boiler and Witte - skirting . In 1968 it was removed from the active stock. It had a mileage of around 4.5 million kilometers.
On the occasion of the centenary of the Treuchtlingen station in 1969, the locomotive was loaned to the city of Treuchtlingen by the Deutsche Bundesbahn . Locomotives of this series were stationed in the Treuchtlingen depot and mainly operated on the route between Munich and Frankfurt am Main .
In depot Treuchtlingen the 01220 was again overhauled and on 17 July 1969 as a monument in a park near the Altmühltherme placed at the level of Altmühlstraße 8th In 1989 it was completely renovated again, for which 50,000 DM were spent.
