description

The Schwabenbächl flows as a continuation of the Hartmannshofer Bach from the landscape lake Allacher Lohe (Hundesee) to the north under the A99 and flows into the Würm Canal . Its superficial course only emerges north of the motorway. The course of the river between the Ludwigsfeld motorway junction and the Hundesee is twisted .

history

In 1927, a public water cooperative was founded to regulate the Schwabenbächl and to drain the adjacent properties in the Ludwigsfeld community. This cooperative built a sluice west of the “Zur Lüfte” inn, through which water from the Schwabenbächl was channeled into the Metzgerbach (also referred to as Schwabenbächl I on some maps). This fed the Ludwigsbad (also called Wagnerbad) with its water in the 1930s. From 1936 to 1940, Bach was as outfall for wastewater from the BMW -Werk Allach use and has also been laid for this purpose. With the relocation to the eastern side of Dachauer Straße, the bridge for Karlsfelder Straße was built in 1941 and has been a registered monument since 2017. Previously it flowed into the Würm Canal about 1.2 km further west since it was built. It originally flowed directly into the Würm northwest of Karlsfeld.
