history
Glesien and the towns of Nockwitz and Schweiditz in its corridor belonged to the electoral office of Delitzsch until 1815 . As a result of the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna , the towns became part of Prussia and in 1816 they were assigned to the Delitzsch district in the Merseburg administrative district of the province of Saxony , to which they belonged until 1952.
The place Ennewitz was until 1815 in the Hochstiftlich-Merseburgischen office Schkeuditz , which was under the electoral suzerainty. By the resolutions of the Congress of Vienna, the place also came to Prussia and was assigned to the Merseburg district in the administrative district of the same name in the Prussian province of Saxony. On October 1, 1937, the town was reorganized into the Prussian district of Delitzsch. In the following years, Ennewitz came completely to Glesien as a district.
In the course of the district reform in the GDR in 1952, Glesien and its districts were assigned to the newly cut Delitzsch district in the Leipzig district, which was merged in the Delitzsch district in 1994 . On January 1, 1999, Glesien became part of the town of Schkeuditz, which had moved to the Delitzsch district.
