Swiss Football Championship 1898/99

The third Swiss football championship took place in 1899/1900. With the exception of FC Neuchâtel, only German-speaking Swiss clubs took part in it, while the Welsh had their own league, the Ligue Romande de Football .

The Lausanne Football and Cricket Club, for example, took part in it, as the Ligue Romande de Football, out of consideration for the English players, made sure that matches did not take place on Sundays (see the final match between Lausanne Football and Cricket Club and Old Boys Basel in the preseason that was scheduled on a Sunday). As the Ligue Romande de Football archives were destroyed by fire in 1955, information from this period is missing.

mode

The Series A and Series B was divided into two regional groups. A win brought 2 points, a draw 1 point. The winner of each group qualified for the respective finals, the winner of the finals of Serie A becomes Swiss champions 1899/00.
