Michael Scott Machado (born June 8, 1990 in Queens , New York ) is an American basketball player of Brazilian descent. He currently plays for the Spanish club ICL Manresa in the ACB league in the position of playmaker.
Career
Scott Machado grew up in the New York borough of Queens to Brazilian parents. He was not selected in the 2012 NBA draft . He signed a contract with the Houston Rockets in November 2012 . In his first NBA season he played 6 games and was repeatedly sent to the Rockets' farm team , the Rio Grande Valley Vipers . For the Rockets themselves he played a total of 5 play-off games. In April 2013 he then signed a contract with the Golden State Warriors until the rest of the season. The 2013-14 season began Machado in the NBA D-League for the Santa Cruz Warriors . In April 2014 he moved to Europe for the French ASVEL . For the 2014/15 season Machado signed a contract with BC Kalev , who played in the VTB United League . Here he was voted Player of the Month for March 2015. In July 2015 Machado signed with EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the basketball league . However, he only stayed there for one season and moved to the BBL promoted Rasta Vechta at the beginning of the BBL season 2016/2017 . On December 5th, however, his contract was dissolved, after which he played for the Spanish club ICL Manresa in the Spanish ACB league .
