The Seabourn Sojourn is a cruise ship of the Carnival Corporation belonging Seabourn Cruise Line . The ship is the second of the three-unit Odyssey class.

history

The ship was built under construction number 63 at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa . The construction contract was signed on January 31, 2007. The keel of the ship was laid on June 30, 2008. The hull was built at the Ci.Mar Costruzioni Navali shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogaro and then towed to the Mariotti shipyard, where the ship was completed and equipped. It was delivered on May 28, 2010.

The ship was christened on June 4, 2010 in London . Godmother was the former British model Twiggy .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by diesel-electric technology . Propulsion is carried out by two electric motors that act on two fixed propellers . Five diesel units with a total of 23,801  kW output are available for power generation. The ship is equipped with two bow thrusters and stabilizers .

The ship has eleven decks , ten of which are accessible to passengers (on the lower two passenger decks , deck 2 and deck 3, passengers can only access the bathing platform at the stern of the ship and the infirmary). There is space on board for 450 passengers who can be accommodated in 225 cabins. All cabins are outside cabins and around 90% of the cabins have their own balcony.

In 2010 the ship received the “Silver Award” from the European Cruiser Association in the “Best New Cruise Ship” category. In 2011 the ship was awarded the “Editors' Picks Award” by Cruise Critic together with its sister ship Seabourn Quest as “Industry best for spa lovers” and all three ships in the Odyssey class were recognized as “Industry best in luxury”. In 2016 the ship won the “Porthole Cruise Magazine Readers' Choice Award” in the category “Best Small Ship”.
