Sebastian Rank
Sebastian Rank (born April 25, 1986 in Apolda ) is a former German triathlete .
Career
Sebastian Rank started in Italy in 2003 at the Duathlon European Championship and finished 17th in the juniors. He came to Saarbrücken in 2004 as a sports soldier.
In 2005 he won the junior runner-up European title in triathlon and in 2007 he took 5th place at the Junior World Championships.
In August 2008 he became German triathlon champion U23. In 2009 he was the fourth-best German 23rd in the 2009 World Championship racing series on the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). In 2012 he missed a sought-after nomination for a starting place at the Summer Olympics in London.
He started in 2013 in the B-team of the German national triathlon team of the German Triathlon Union (DTU). In the French championship he started at the Grand Prix de Triathlon for the club EC Sartrouville .
In November 2013, Sebastian Rank declared his professional career over.
