Seja ( Russian Зея , English Zeya ) was a Russian military satellite .

Structure and Mission

The satellite with a launch mass of 87 kg was launched on March 4, 1997 in Svobodny on the third flight of a converted SS-25 . In addition to researching navigation and control technology, it also served as an amateur radio satellite RS -16. The equipment consisted of communications technology, a GPS and GLONASS receiver and a laser - retroreflector arrangement. It was built by the Russian manufacturer ISS Reshetnev . Its name was chosen after the river Seja near the launch site.

His re-entry took place on October 25, 1999.
