The Semène is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the Pilat Regional Nature Park , in the municipality of Saint-Genest-Malifaux , drains in the upper reaches generally to the southwest, then turns from northwest to north and flows after 46 kilometers at the town of the same name, Semène , in the municipality of Aurec-sur-Loire as a right tributary in the Loire . On its way, the Semène crosses the Loire and Haute-Loire departments .
