Sentimento is a classic album by the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli . After its publication in November 2002, it was able to sell more than two million times in a very short time. To date it has been sold around 3.5 million times, making it one of the best-selling classic albums worldwide. For Bocelli it was the second most successful classical album after Arie Sacre .

Emergence

According to his own statement, Bocelli went to Lorin Maazel with a list he had compiled and asked him to record these pieces with him. After his acceptance, Bocelli was accompanied by the London Symphony Orchestra under Maazel's baton, with Maazel also performing as a violinist. Recordings began on September 30, 2000 at the BBC studio in London and lasted until October 7.

A text written by Maazel was added to the booklet to the album, which was to serve as an introduction. Maazel concluded by writing: May the pleasure we have had in embarking on this new venture be shared by those who listen ( May the pleasure we had in doing this venture be shared with all who hear it ).

tour

Shortly after the album went public, Maazel and Bocelli toured the UK to present the album. It proved to be successful on the island, it was able to occupy seventh place in the charts, and it even made it to the top of the classical charts. In Manchester, Bocelli gave a concert in front of about 13,000 people, and about 10,000 people attended to hear him at Wembley Stadium in London.
