Bocelli is the second studio album by the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli . It was released in November 1995 and after a short time managed to reach the top or even the top position in many European charts.

content

Songs

The album, which contains a total of eleven tracks, is mainly composed of Italian songs. This includes the anti-war song Macchine da guerra . In addition to Conte partirò , Romanza and Vivo per lei were also particularly successful ; the latter as a duet with the Italian singer Giorgia . Both performed at the 1994 Sanremo Festival . Bocelli sang the last track on the album, which was also called Vivo per lei , with Judy Weiss . This interpretation is best known in Germany, presumably because Weiss sang in German.

Although the Rhein-Zeitung confirmed that Bocelli was one of the most successful and talented tenors of his time, this album does not contain any opera arias. Such albums appeared later in Bocelli's career, such as the album Viaggio Italiano , which contains popular operatic pieces. Only the pieces Con te partirò and Time to Say Goodbye are more classically designed, which also explains the cast by Brightman, a soprano .

The album's producer, Mauro Malavasi, also wrote a piece for the album with Romanza . The Italian songwriter Panceri composed several songs, the versions of Vivo per lei contained on the album in cooperation with other songwriters and the pop song Semper semper with Felisatti. Bocelli also let his own composition flow into the album, it was released under the title Voglio restare so .

occupation

Andrea Bocelli was supported by several musicians on the album, especially Mauro Malavasi and Joe Amoroso , who played piano and drums, among other things. Numerous violinists such as Sara Sternieri and Laura Sarti also took part.

reception

Due to Bocelli's even less fame at international level, the album was only released in a limited edition, only in 1997, after Bocelli became known with other albums, especially Romanza , that the album was released again, this time under the Universal label .

The album contains two songs with which Bocelli had success early in his career: Con te partirò and Time to Say Goodbye , which he sang with Sarah Brightman . For this duet he was awarded with Brightman in 1997 together in Germany, it was due to the success of his second release of the album.

In other countries, too, Bocelli was able to receive several awards due to the high ranking of his album, such as the status of multiplatinum in the Netherlands and Germany, but Bocelli also achieved platinum status twice in his home country Italy . Bocelli's album also prevailed in Belgium, in the Walloon part of the country it stayed in the charts for 57 weeks, in the Flemish part 66. In both parts of the country the album reached first place in the national charts.
