Sogno is a music album by the Italian singer Andrea Bocelli that was released in 1999. After just a few weeks, it sold over four million copies worldwide and became one of the singer's most successful albums. It sold around ten million copies worldwide, making it Bocelli's most successful album to date after Romanza .

Emergence

The album was produced in the Clock Studio in Bologna and in the Forum Studio in Rome . Andrea Bocelli meanwhile worked with several well-known singers, with the Portuguese singer Dulce Pontes he recorded 'O Mare E Tu , with Celine Dion he sang The Prayer together in 1998 , which proved to be a great success for both and Bocelli was also a nomination for the Grammy Awards. With Eros Ramazzotti , with whom Bocelli had already worked, he sang Nel Cuore Lei .

For the Spanish-speaking countries, the plate was named Sueño , which also means dream . This edition includes three other songs that Bocelli sang in Spanish.

The song A mio padre (German: To my father ) wrote Bocelli himself. Initially, the text, which was written as a letter, was not created as a song, but Bocelli wanted to convince his father of the success of his musical career. Bocelli later commissioned Malavasi to work out a melody for the text. For the song Cantico , Bocelli worked as a songwriter with Mauro Malavasi and Guerrini.
